1. What are the benefits provided under Bus Journey Personal Accident Scheme?

Bus Journey Personal Accident Scheme is a group personal accident insurance cover underwritten by Berjaya Sompo Insurance Berhad (Company No. 198001008821 (62605-U)) exclusively for eligible MyETrade platform's passengers.

This product covers bodily injury causes by violent, accidental external and visible means which injury shall solely and independently of any other cause result in the following losses stated in the Schedule of Benefits below whilst covered person travel as fare paying registered passenger for destination stated in the Bus ticket issued by MyETrade platform and has purchased package that contains insurance cover.

2. What are the covers / benefits provided?

Note: The aggregate of all percentage payable under Benefit 2 in respect of any one Period of Insurance shall not exceed 100%.

  2. The duration of cover will start from the time the Person Insured departs from his/ her home or place of work or two (2) hours prior to the scheduled departure time specified in the bus ticket and cease two (2) hours after the Person Insured's arrival at the destination specified in the bus ticket.

  3. Eligible age: Aged not less than two (2) years old to 100 years old with valid bus ticket.

  4. Residential Status: Malaysian citizen, Permanent Resident, Foreign Traveller, Work Permit Holder, Employment Pass Holder, Student Pass Holder or otherwise legally employed who purchases a bus ticket from the MyETrade platform.

3. How can I purchase the Bus Journey Personal Accident Scheme?

You can purchase this coverage via MyETrade authorized terminal or bus operator, portal, counter or Kiosk when you purchase the bus ticket.

4. Is this product subject to SST (8%)?

Yes, this product is subject to 8% SST.

5. What are the fees of this product?

This product includes premium, 8% SST and any other applicable fees and charges that are fully paid by issuer upon subscription.

6. Can I make claims under this Bus Journey Personal Accident Scheme even if I have other Personal Accident policies/ Travel Policies?

Yes. Even if you have other Personal Accident Policies / Travel Policies, you are still entitled to make claim(s) under this coverage.

7. How do I file a claim for Reimbursement of Bus Ticket?

If you unable to undertake the scheduled journey due to an Injury or Accident occurring within 24 hours prior to the scheduled departure time, please call Berjaya Sompo customer service representative at 1800 88 9933, available from 9am to 5pm (Monday to Friday, except for Public Holiday) or email to customer@bsompo.com.my.

Conditions for Reimbursement of Bus Ticket:
  1. The Covered Person must have registered for coverage via MyETrade authorized terminal or bus operator, portal, counter or Kiosk when purchasing the bus ticket.
  2. Proof of ticket booking, ticket issued and payment confirmation must be submitted, together with medical certification from the attending Medical Practitioner confirming the Injury or Accident and the date of the Accident that prevented travel.
  3. This benefit is limited to one claim per ticketed journey.
  4. No reimbursement shall be payable if the cancellation occurs more than 24 hours prior to the scheduled departure time.

8. How do I file for a loss of from Snatch Theft / Robbery?

The Covered Person required to report the incident to MyETrade customer service within 24 hours of such incident. For Snatch Theft/ Robbery claims, the Covered Person is required to make a police report within 24 hours. Conditions for Snatch Theft / Robbery:
  1. The Covered Person must have registered for cover via the designated application prior to the insured period.
  2. A formal police report must be lodged within 24 hours of the incident, and the report must list items lost.
  3. This benefit is limited to one claim per incident.

9. What are the major exclusions under this policy?

Note: This list is non-exhaustive. The Master Policy which will contain the full list of exclusions.

10. Can I cancel/refund the insurance once issued?

No, this Insurance scheme is non-cancellable and non-refundable.

11. Is the insurance remain valid if the ticket is changed to different trip date / time or converted to an open date ticket?

No. The insurance will be void and no longer valid once the original ticket becomes invalid.

12. Will the insurance remain valid if the bus trip stated on the ticket is delayed or rescheduled by the bus operator or terminal?

Yes. If the bus trip is delayed or rescheduled by the bus operator or terminal, the insurance coverage will continue to remain valid and will apply to the updated trip.

13. Can the Covered Person still claim if the ticket has been refunded?

No, a refunded ticket is not eligible for claim.

15. What documents will I need when submitting my claims?

This depends on the nature of your claims, please call Berjaya Sompo customer service representative at 1800 88 9933 for more information. Alternatively, you can download the Claim Forms at Berjaya Sompo Insurance Berhad website https://www.berjayasompo.com.my/claims-and-support/personal-accident.

16. What can cause a claim to be rejected?

The Covered Person must provide Berjaya Sompo a written notice or call the Company within 30 days of an accident, loss or damage on which a claim may arise.

Berjaya Sompo would not deny a claim if the Covered Person failed to notify the Company, provided it can be shown to the Company's satisfaction that it was not reasonably possible to give such notice within 30 days.

17. How long will it take for me to receive my claims?

Upon the receipt of completed claim documents, Berjaya Sompo will revert with claim status within 5 working days. Once claims are approved, payment will be made within 7 working days.

By purchasing this product, you hereby agree, consent and allow Berjaya Sompo Insurance Berhad to process your personal data for purposes of entering into a contract of Insurance, in compliance with the provision of the Personal Data Protection Act 2010. you have read and understood the Privacy Notice of MyETrade, and the benefit coverage stated in Product Disclosure Sheet (PDS) and FAQs.
Note: If there is any discrepancy in this document, the benefits, terms, and conditions stated in the Policy Contract shall prevail.
